Family Festival

The Cannstatter Volksfest offers attractive deals, special programs, and theme days especially for families. Fun and variety are guaranteed for children, teenagers, and adults alike.

Families are very welcome!

Wednesday is family day:
  • This year, Family Days are on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and October 8, 2025.
  • There are reduced prices and discounts – keep an eye out for the notices at the stalls and rides.
  • Parking at the Wasen car park (P10) costs only € 6 on Family Day.
  • There is a free special program from 2 pm to 6 pm at the information pavilion at the fruit column, featuring stilt walkers, glitter tattoos, and balloon animals, for example.

Family days

On these days, there are discounted prices for the whole family. In addition, in the afternoons at the information pavilion at the fruit column, there are many free attractions awaiting our youngest guests, such as stilt walkers, balloon artists, glitter tattoos, and a wheel of fortune with great prizes. And maybe even the Wasenhasi will hop out of hiding.

Children's rides

In addition to numerous children's rides such as the fairy tale carousel, mini bumper cars, and the children's train, there is plenty for the little ones to discover—our showmen look forward to your visit.

Parade

A special highlight for families is the folk festival parade with around 3,600 participants on the first Sunday of the festival, where you can marvel at colorful traditional costume groups and marching bands, old craft guilds and animals.

Children's menus

Many snack bars and large festival tents offer special dishes for children.

Children's collection point

The German Red Cross (DRK) has had a children's collection point for many years. Children who have lost sight of their parents are looked after there and can be picked up there.

Baby changing rooms

Baby changing rooms are available at the DRK station and in the toilet facilities in the Krämermarkt area.
